This blog is being created as a record of my activities.  I come from a large creative family.  I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters.  My mother is still with us.  She is 90 years old, and in better shape than the 4 of us.  She told us she didn't expect to live long enough to have all of her children on medicare with her, and come fall, 4 of us will be there with her.  Only 6 or so years for the other two.

Mom sewed as we grew up, but out of necessity, not for fun.  With 6 kids, you save where you can.  We all learned to sew, and as of now, 3 of us are quilting, one is leaning toward that, but not quite yet.

We started our recent Bitch and Stitch Session by making quilts for two of our Aunts who are in nursing homes, then realized that we need to do 3 more.  Those are being designed by Margie, the youngest of us.  The first two were designed by Janie (Karen Jane).  They were received with great delight either by the recipient or their family.  Hope to work on the other 3 this fall at our next Bitch and Stitch session.
This quilt was made for my Aunt Avanel, my father's sister

This quilt was made for my Aunt Totsy (LuCreasie) my mother's sister.

I sewed to keep busy until I had children, then I sewed to make things for them.  Kept sewing for years.  Anything from toys and kids clothing to most of my curtains, throw pillows, etc.  Now i am learning to quilt.  Started with quilts for my grand daughters.
